So, Let Me Introduce Myself…

Updated: May 21, 2020

Hey! I am Dr. Raushanah.

I am a double board-certified adult, child, and adolescent psychiatrist. I’ve been married for almost 20 years and I am a mother of 4 beautiful daughters. I was born in Michigan and raised in Georgia. I grew up in a large family and both my parents worked in the mental health field. Growing up, becoming a psychiatrist never crossed my mind. At first, I thought I was going to be an architect, then a teacher, then a singer (that’s a story for another time) before finally becoming a doctor. In hindsight, all of what I experienced, good and bad, prepared me for being a GOOD PSYCHIATRIST and so NOW it all makes sense.

I have learned from every patient. I have also learned from my personal experiences of dealing with postpartum depression and anxiety. In fact, I wrote a bestselling book about it. I know how difficult getting up and doing normal daily activities can be while depressed. I also know how excessive worry can negatively impact relationships and your choices. One of the most important things I’ve learned thru all of this, is the resiliency of the human mind and human spirit.

I am amazed by the human mind and human spirit. I believe we are all uniquely different and all uniquely special. Our circumstances and/or environment distracts us from this knowledge which distracts us from realizing our strengths and potential. Therefore, my passion is to help retrieve and bring out radiant qualities that empower and aid positive transformations.

My mission is to promote mental health wellness for all people, but specifically for professional moms with multiple children. I have walked in those shoes and continue to walk in those shoes. I am aware of the pressure and stress involved in being a professional while taking care of multiple children and hardly having the time to care for yourself. I’m here to remind you of your radiant strength, radiant beauty, and radiant potential, so you will be empowered to make the positive transformations you desire. So, to all of you Radiant Light Moms, let’s let our radiant light shine!
